I received a call from a 301 number no other prefixs to accompany that number. The person claimed that he was calling from the Federal government grant division. I asked him what his name was and he told me it was Rick Turner, with a heavy Indian (india) accent. I thought that was pretty odd, well he told me that i was randomly selected by the government to receive a 7500.00 grant. He went on to tell me that to make sure that I was the said person to receive the grant i had to call 202.436.9770, and give them the person my grant id # which was given to me. I call the number and the person asked for my govn't id # and i gave him the number which was given to me, then was asked to be placed on hold while he retrieves my file. He told me congratulation on my grant then goes on to aske me how would i like to receive it and that i had three options, funds to be transffered to my bank accnt, or to my credit card, and last was through western union. I asked if i could get the money sent to my mailing address by check and was told no! It has to be done with the three ways explained to me, for the purpose of security. So i opt for the western union route, then he tells me that there is a 290.00 processing fee, which would be returned as soon as i complete the transaction. Then i told him to just have it removed from the grant and his reply was not able to do that. What a scam !!! People watch out i am going to the attorney generals office to report this acts of deception.
