I just received a call from this number in regards to a $6700 grant. And was explained how to recieve the money by going down to Walmart and going through money gram and sending them $220 plus show my id and that's only to verify who I am but how in the world can they verify my identity by me sending them $220??? But in return they would send me $6920??? Is this real? Has anyone else claimed a grant?
The people calling have a Chinese or Japanese acent. They say you have been selected for a Loyalty grant and that 1500 people have been selected that have paid their taxes on time and no bankruptcy in the past 6 mo. They ask you if you want it in cash which you can go to Walmart or Western Union or by Check and he gives you a ID # and then you are suppose to call 202-436-9914 and talk to a person named Angelina Williams. I did not call because i know there are scams going around when you call you are billed for a big phone charge. And i know our government is not gonna hand out free money and if they did it would be in the news and info would be sent to you in a letter not a phone call. This is a Scam do call or give them money!
I received this same call. They want me to call them back and explained I would get $6700 because I am a US citizen that paid their taxes and bills on time. I tried to ask questions and the person on the other end just repeated the same information. He also spoke with a broken English accent that was difficult to understand. It is scary that he was able to tell me my name, address and personal information so I didn't have to give him any information other than rather I worked or not.
