I got a call from this number and lady with a heavy accent asked my credit card number. She KEPT reiterating the same script over and over about how she was had 9000 in federal grant money. I don't really care and I don't want to spread my infos. Sto calling!

I did not believe their story. I just received a call from these Indians as well. In fact they have been calling relentlessly for two weeks. Today.... I answered. I couldn't understand him. The only clear words he spoke, intentionally if you ask me, was "the United States Government" bla bla.. scam for sure do not trust them.
Caller she said we had been approved for a $9000.00 grant we did not need to pay back and that they needed to have the money transfered to bank account, saving account or credit card. When I asked who this was and who the grant was for they hung up. I did report to Police Department the call and number.
Just got a call from this number - I qualified for the same $900. grant because I paid my taxes on time and had not filed for bankruptcy..... when I said we must have a bad connection because I could not understand her (very bad accent) , she said she would call back. But didn't. No surprise there. So she never got to ask me for acct #. LOL was thinking of giving her my Ex's.
Telemarketing scams are the new email spams. You will receive many many more calls from various numbers. Telemarketing scams are on the rise, mostly foreign operated and YES the person on the other end know they are trying to scam you, which makes them criminal low-lives too.
These calls aren't going to stop you will receive many more (worth repeating).
Never ever give out personal information over the phone. Never ever give out personal information over the phone. Especially to telemarketers that CALL YOU.
You will not win anything, there is no lowering of your credit card interest rate, there is no home security, computer fix, auto warranty, no medical alert devices or no free government money
Warn the elderly and warn the gullible. Criminals use auto dialers and computers to call victims. Don't be a victim. Do not provide any personal information over the phone and just ignore the calls.
Beware of out of area numbers, automated calls and unsuspecting calls.
Take the time to warn others, report the calls and beware.
