Got a call from 202-461-3233 stating the call is from IRS. The message said that there is loss of file with IRS and return the call immediately. Need to know if this is a scam
The caller said that a large sum of back taxes were owed and they were filing a lawsuit on me and I needed to call back or suffer the consequences. He said he was calling from the IRS and even answered the return call by saying IRS. When I called back he asked for my name and phone number. He had a foreign accent and said his name was Roger Cooper. Said nothing else after that but I did hear talking in the background.
do not talk to these people, its scam. they will tell you that if you don't pay them the will get you arrested, file law suit and bunch of other [***]. just tell them to send you notice or don't call back. just don't answer their calls. I know some who has been getting calls and after reporting to local police they stopped calling.
