Elderly mother received similar call this afternoon and I called woman back. Same shtick as mentioned above. She refused to give me her name, badge number, supervisor, etc., and then started singing in my ear when I insisted on speaking with her supervisor.
Same thing happened to me this afternoon. Scam robocall telling me the IRS has filed a lawsuit against me and I have to call this number. Of course, I did not call the number and I blocked it.
The caller left the same recorded voice message about an IRS lawsuit that I had received from a 617 number last week. I guess that the scammers thought a DC area code seemed more credible than a Massachusetts one.
