A__ HO__'s the IRS doesn't do this. I had a problem some time ago they just keep taking your return till you are paid back. If it is LOTS of money then they do chase you but a person or two registered letters. not a green dot card to nowhere.
I live in the Midwest and received a call from "Kevin Smith" the senior investigator for the IRS who told me I committed tax evasion and if I didn't pay the money I owed right now he would contact my local police and arrest me within 45 min and that there were several warrants against me including a bench warrant. He only had my name and address as I kept asking him to give me more info...he said they tried to deliver letters twice and I wasn't home...he sounded phony from the beginning but I must tell you that if you don't know how An authority like the IRS works one could be worried and may start thinking this could really be them. The guy did get hostile on the phone and kept threatening to call the police and finally hung up .
Again I received another call this time from LA... 1-213-2896-3855 stating that Kevin Smith needed to speak with me. I told them to go Eff themselves. I'm tired of this.
