ive been online researching to see that this guy named Chris Adams is calling peoples homes, asking for minors and previous Discover card holders. My personal experience was having a message left for me at a family members home asking me to return the call. When I did the gentelman answered hello, I said I was returning a call from someone (who hadnt left a name or extension) and they said hold on. moments later they hung up and that should have been my first clue. Then i called back, he answered Chris Adams, and I asked who or where he was calling me from and told he hung up on me. he was very nasty and told me that I hung up on him.lol. Asked me for a file number and when I said a file number for what he said hold on and hung up again!!...second clue. Then lastly, still curious I called back this time it was hello again and I said "look you called my family home, who are you and what do you want, he asked for my last name and asked me to verify my ss#, when I asked for what and who he told me very rudily that "listening was a unique skill"! and I told him that I wasnt going to give him that information if he couldnt tell me who he was and what he was calling for. He then told me that I didnt sound my age and to have an adult call him back with an attorney to discuss this matter.lol.Who is this? I dont have a Discover card, and havent experienced any identify fraud to my knowledge, or have I????

I received a call from this number today. I answered by saying my name, as I usually do. The caller then asked if I was [my name]. I said yes, he hung up.
I got something slightly different than what was reported here (although it is still scummy)
Seeing the reports on this caller ID I decided to answer and waste the caller's time. In this case, the caller asked for me by name and said that he was calling from HP and was the executive assistant for the "Senior Manager" and that I should hold to discuss an exciting business opportunity with him.
It seems that employing this "executive assistant" (calling from a loud boiler room call center in India) is a way around the DNC laws forbidding robocalls. I expect that when Rachel from Card Services/Home Security gets back online after her recent slaps on the wrist she may start using this method instead of the robocalls.
Back to the call. I expressed overblown fake excitement at being to talk to the "Senior Manager". [1] and repeatedly asked what the opportunity was about. The caller said that he couldn't discuss with me but to hold for the Senior Manager. He finally hung up before transferring me. Oh well, that once in a lifetime opportunity to talk to the "Senior Manager" is forever gone, at least until these scumbags call back.
I don't know if this is a new tactic related to what others have posted about this number - it was a "business opportunity" and nothing at first glance related to credit card debt.
[1] No really - The Frigging Senior Manager wants to talk to little ol' me??!?!?!
Our phone has 6 incoming lines and just now one right after the other all six lines rand from this number. The caller stated that he "Just tried to contact (Name of person that does not work here) but got voice mail. Can you transfer me to the head of your IT Dept." So I just transferred each to the next person calling from the exact same number. Let them talk to each other.
