Talked to Mary.....she denied any involvement on her and simon's behalf of said businesses.
She merely talked in circles and constantly repeated herself (near nonsense) when confronted with any sort of allegation of being related to the above listed scenarios.
I highly recommend making the call. It was actually fairly amusing. People like these are usually spineless, weak, and cowardly. I think Mary certainly falls into this category.
If the US laws aren't going to protect us against these harassing phone calls, why should US law protect the harassing phone call makers?
Yeah.....the DO NOT CALL list probably won't work........I'm sure the businesses are listed as some sort of non-profit or something......they're not direct sales calls.....so.......call that number.......when they disconnect and change it.....i'll post the new one......I will continue to do so until WE STOP RECEIVING THESE CALLS!
What a scam. I am currently going through a background investigation, coincidentally with the FBI, for government clearance so I was actually expecting a call from the DC area. When I answered I got the "This call is not a sales call. This is the FBI. Do not hang up." Figuring this was the call I was expecting I kept listening....only to end up severely annoyed when suddenly this call that I thought was legit turned into a sales pitch that they promised it wasn't going to be in the opening greeting. I didn't stick around for the prompts to dial anything....so annoyed.
Received an unsolicited call. Said it was an offer to protect my home and family. I selected option #2 ("You do not want to protect your home and family". What insolence!
