Recieved this called twice today 9-10-09 first on my cellfone then hour and half later they called my home phone. Of course I didn't answer it because I don't know who it was and I don't know nobody in Washington DC, no friends or whatsoever. I was just hoping they leave a voicemail but they didn't, so I thought to research it on the internet who's number is it from and then it took me to this website, well thanks to this website...
CALLED ME AT WORK- FREE TRIP TO CARRIBEAN IF I ANSWER 10 QUESTIONS - I ANSWERED ALL 10 COMPLETELY WRONG - PUSH 1 FOR FEMALE - PUSH 1 FOR SEPTIC TANK - PUSH 1 FOR CABLE 2 FOR DIRECT SATTELITE - PUSH 1 FOR SPANISH 2 FOR AMERICAN - AGE GROUP - EDUCATION LEVEL - MARRIED - CHILDREN ------- THEN SOME GUY CAME ON AND I ANSWERED HIS QUESTIONS LIKE A RETARD UNTIL HE GAVE UP ON ME AND HUNG UP. HE ASKS MY NAME AND I TOLD HIM VLATIMEER KHORSHEENKA VATITOOMISK (real fast) HE said Uhhhhh OK then HE ASKED ME MY ZIP CODE AND I RATTLE OFF 25 NUMBERS WITH LETTERS IN RUSSIAN ACCENT. HAD A BLAST WITH THIS ONE !!
Got a call from this number on my work cell phone today, 9/10/09. My number is not published as I am a police officer and my cell phone is on a corporate law enforcement account. I hung up on the recording, which claimed to be a "public opinion poll," then I immediately called the number back. When calling the number back, there is a recording that answers immediately stating that by pressing "1" your number will be removed from their marketing list. They warn that it may take up to 72 hours to process your removal.
Remember, when you want to be removed from a marketing list, do not ask to be "removed" from anything. By most marketing company policies, you must request to be ADDED to their DO NOT CALL or DO NOT SOLICIT list. "Remove me" isn't good enough. Whenever possible, talk to a person, preferably a supervisor to confirm that you have been added to their "Do Not Call" list, commonly referred to among themselves as a DNC list.
NEVER answer numeric prompts in an unsolicited recorded call. You may inadvertently be giving computer access to your phone or accounts.
Automated system, called my work number today 9/10, stating free cruise...left message on my voice mail asking me to press 1 to participate in the survey and get 2 tix to bahamas. irritating.
