I received a message from the "IRS" stating that I have a refund due to me and to call this number. Once credentials are verified, the amount given would be deposited into my account.
Yeah right. And of course to do that, you need to give them your bank's routing number and your checking account number from the bottom of your checks. And then you can kiss the money in your checking account goodbye.
YEAH I RECEIVED THE SAME CALL AND THE SAME MESSAGE BUT THE ONLY THING IS THEY ALREADY KNEW ALL MY INFO..DONT KNOW WHO THESE PPL ARE BUT THEY CLEARLY ARE NOT THE IRS AND I AM CHANGING MY ACCOUNT NUMBER IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

I feel so bad for you. This kind of stuff makes me sick. I will be praying for your speedy recovery of funds, I think when these people are caught, they should spend time in prison just for representing a federal agency.
