I received calls from this number and I finally answered and they advised that I had been chosen to receive a 9000 grant for my area in Texas that I didn't have to pay back, I proceeded to advise him this is a scam and get off my phone he then began to use vulgar language and making moaning noises, I hung up. This was a few months ago now the calls have started again today but I have not answered.
I have been receiving calls from 202-499-1853 number telling me I've won some government grant money of 7,000 it sounded like someone from a foreign country and it also says to go to my nearest Walgreens and that they don't send it threw mail or any Debit card that I have to go to Walgreens and give them the Claim # they gave me when I call back to this # 202-464-2535 so they can tell me what to do next. I'm still trying to figure out what this really is . It was hard to understand what they were saying!
I recently received a phone call from this number. I answered, and then I heard a dial tone. A couple of seconds later I heard a woman's voice saying she was from the Polish Embassy in the United States and that I'd won grant money or something of the sort. After hearing this I hung up and blocked the number. DON'T ANSWER THIS NUMBER IT IS A SCAM!
This number called me 8 times in a 5 hour period, and left 6 empty voice mail messages on Friday, 6/10. I have reported this number to the Federal Do Not Call list. But, of course, nothing has happened.
It comes in waves, I can get this call several times a day for a week then nothing for a couple of weeks. Mine says Polish Embassy, and unlike some of the other posters here, I get a woman saying "Hello? Hello?" as if I called her. I also hear voices in the background like what a call center may sound like.
It's always on my answering machine (yes I have one of those) and I never pick up or return call.
