I received call from this number they left a messege twice .I returned the call its was man named Alan. With a heavy accent. He asked the number I was calling from I asked him why do you need to know that? He then hung up on me. I called him again someone picked. Up but didn't say anything then put its on hold till I hung up,
There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers in both Canada and the USA.

I received the same call. This is definitely a scam. Don't think we're dumb to scam people like us. If any IRS reps have any question or allegation against a person they would likely send a document/letter, if they call they would leave their names and phone numbers, not just a voicemail stating the purpose. IRS has confidential policy to disclose anything like that. [***] scammer they need to be reported.

I missed a call from this number and it left a partial voicemail (computer voice) which said I should not ignore this message and I or my attorney should call back before legal "allegations" are brought against me. I didn't call back and suggest no one else does either.
