I had a voice mail message from this number. Detective Julie Smith claiming to be with the Internal Revenue Service. "Call back to avoid further action against me". I know that the IRS does not contact people by phone - only in writing. Of course I did not call them back.
I googled the phone number and thanks to the comment from "Ogirl", I contacted the Federal Trade Commission to file a complaint.
I keep getting phone calls from 202-506-9720. They leave me a message saying this is reguarding the IRS. I called back and the guy that answered the phone wouldn't tell me the company he was with then called me a [***] when I asked for a supervisor.
I just got a call from the same number and it said that I'm being investigated and I should call another 202 something number from my shock I didn't get the number, so I googled the number that I received and I figured out that it was a scam!!!
