A call from this number came through on my xell phone tonight. I did not answer it, as it said, "Washington " DC" and I don't know anyone in DC? I am on the National Do Nor Call list and I should not be getting these calls!
Pam, spam callers do care that you and I are on the Do Not Call Registry - They are illegitimate scammers, and like other lawbreakers, they don't follow the laws. Also, the Do Not Call Registry has no enforcement ability and only assists law enforcement and prosecutors in the unlikely event a lawbreaker is somehow caught and prosecuted. Too bad so many people wrongly believe the Feds are going to spend time hunting down and prosecuting scam callers and DNCR violators. The violators do not generally leave traceable information and most are hoping and betting on a percentage of the public slipping up and giving financial and other personal information. Remember the adage "If something seems too good to be true it probably is?", that is a true fact.
