I rec'd a call today from this number. they identified themselves as Trans National Litigation. "Sarah Waters". she left a message that there was a civil complaint against me from my town (she knew what town I lived in) and then stated that Citibank placed a breech of contract civil complaint and that I had 3-5 days after being served (which I would be within the next few days) to go to the county court building or there would be a bench warrent on me. I called them back and a man answered. He gave a three letter court number ACF and four numbers after that. (FYI).
I told them I filed bankruptcy in 2005 and that I included Citibank. They then put me on hold and then came back on (a man) and stated he needed to verify the first four numbers of my SS # (he knew the numbers). He then stated that i would be served and to make sure I did not have any "fire arms, animals or drugs" in the house and then he hung up on me. I felt funny about this call and wish i did not say "yes" to my first four numbers of my ss #. It sounds funny. I will re-post if i do get served so people can figure out if this is a credit collection company or some sort of scam. I hope they are not going to use my SS # for some scam... but how would they have had all the info?
Got a call from this number telling me that I have a civil complaint against me but did not give any detail who filed that complaint. I figured if someone or somebody has a complaint against me, he/she/it would go through the official channel by sending me detail complaint through his/her/its lawyer.
Is this really an official business, or just a scam?
I received a similar call from "Special Investigator Donald Jasper" saying I am the respondent in a civil suit and need to call back and reference a claim number. I've received nothing in the mail even though I have been at the same address for 10 years and I live in CA, not DC. Sounds like BS.
Hopefully you didn't confirm your social security # with them. This just stinks of scam. The guy identified himself as special agent Marc Anthony and said I would be served by my local sheriffs dept in 24-48 hours.
I received a similar phone call from Stacy Jordan informing me I was being sued. They left a message for me to call back this number and provide with a claim number they could tell me who is trying to sue me. This just doesn't sound right.
