I first received a call from an unknown number. He didn't speak English very well so it was hard for me to understand everything. But he clearly said I received a government grant of $9000 from a random selection. Have me an authorization code and a phone number to call (917)-338-6850. Then started asking what I would do with the money, but I diverted and was able to hang up. I called the other number and gave the authorization code. A lady, who once again didn't speak good English, told me the process I had to go through to get the grant.
With these situations, I listen for key things: do they present the company they work for, do they tell you their name without you asking, do they sound eager. Of course there was a registration fee of $200 I was suppose to pay. And then she got to being eager - "how many minutes would you say it will take you to get to the closest (rite aid, western union, dollar general)?" I started asking why I would have to pay that money and she got frustrated with me. The line disconnected so I called back and started asking her the company name (Helen Human Services, I think is what she said), the address (couldn't make out this except it was a New York address), her name (Stephanie Williams), and her employee ID number (none). She was so pissed off from these questions I had to laugh. But I hope this info is helpful to anyone else. Stay safe. Stay guarded.

He then asked how just wanted my $$$$ he said he.could give it to me on my credit card, bank, as a money gram etc. Lol. He wanted my account numbers and routing numbers too. Got a call from Cindy working for the government, also wanted to give me $9700 because I have been a good American over the last 6months! Unfortunately for them I don't know where they got their facts from but I only arrived in this beautiful place 6 weeks ago, and I am still getting settled. lol
I received a call saying they from u.s government verification services the number is 202-000-0010 they stated that I won a free grant for 9,700 if I wanted it cash in hand one a card or a money gram I told them money gram I do not give out my bank info over the phone they told me to call 202-580-8535 no answer by the way if you have received a call from them report it to the FTC at 1800-433-3243 the department of health and human services will tell you call the attorney general they won't even take info but the feaderal trade commission will.....
