called my cell, no message left. I returned the call, went right to music, no answer saying who I was calling, waited on hold and woman with an Indian accent answered identifying "IRS Audit Department". Reporting to Do Not Call List but know it won't help.
Called my mom saying that its Karen Cooper from the IRS and that I need to get in contact with them immediately. Since it was my first time doing my own taxes I figured maybe I did something wrong and got too much money....When I called them she had a strong Indian and when I gave her my phone number she hung up. I tried to call again but no answer. Its a scam...they want you to think you're in trouble so you can pay them money
Just got the same call from the same lady. I was about to puke. I had an uneasy feeling about the call,, pretending like I was losing signal and hung up, now I'm checking it out on the web and found your post, That was crazy.
strong accent lady couldn't be understood, so a male came on line and said someone would be coming to the door to collect IRS money owed or be taken to jail.
caller Identifies as being from IRS, provides a Fake badge # 1005461 and claims I owe back tax's from 2008 to 2013 of $4,000 and must pay now to avoid legal action. SCAM, DO NOT provide any information to them.
