What bothers me is the one time i picked up, the caller asked for me and i said "this is she, who is this?" she hung up! whats the point of all the call anyways if you're goin to call and hang right up and then keep calling every damn day?!?!?!?!
During the past week, I have suddenly started receiving multiple phone calls daily from this number, as well as 517-933-2007 and 231-732-2642. I have not answered any of the calls but when I research all 3 of them, similar comments like the ones above keep coming up - something about a scam with winning a gift card. One thread I read had a lot of comments about purchasing a Snugglie. I have not purchased one of those but I did recently purchase something off an infomercial. I shop online all the time and have never had a problem. However, this is the first time I've purchased something off an infomercial. I haven't received my item yet but all of a sudden I am bombarded with these calls. I did add my new cell number to the Do Not Call registry but it takes 31 days to be effective. We'll see.... In the meantime, I recommend not answering any calls from one of these numbers. If it was truly important or legit, they would leave a message.
I just started getting the same calls and actually called one back. You get a message saying you've reached the marketing department and if you don't wish to be contacted again to press 1. I did and it said within 24 hours Id be on their do not call list. It hasn't been that long so I don't know if it worked but we'll see. I havent purchased anything online or through an infomercial.
I get calls from 202-607-2540, 517-933-2007, 231-732-2642, 352-804-5664, 646-488-8435, 317-796-8723, 800-753-9740, 888-453-1913, and 702-705-5099. I'm not ready to say though that the gift card thing is an absolute scam. I ordered something from Dean Graziosi and at the end of that prompt they offered a $50 walmart gift card and another $25 gift card but you had to sign up for some monthly memberships to random nonsense. I went ahead and signed up because in theory, if you cancel the memberships within the month, then you basically get $75 worth of gift cards for free (but in theory is a big "if" because I know it's not always so simple to cancel things like that).
make sure you keep the cancellation code date and name of who you talked to when you cancel. I did something like that a long time ago and they kept billing me after canceling, plus I started getting weird charges from companies I'd never ordered anything from for hundreds of dollars. It took a long time to get resolved so be careful!
This number called me several times a day but will not leave a message. Finally caught them today. They had my first/last name and the last four of my Visa debit card. Because I have had my card "for so long" and been "such a good member" she offered me a free $35 prepaid card and a $25 visa gift card. "No obligatoin" of course.
