I've gotten two automated messages from them-- the height of arrogance-- I figured it was a wrong number because I have no oustanding debts except mortgage and car and both are in good standing. I called them back after the second time, I must say the lady that took my call was pleasant, told me whom they were seeking (no name was given on the automated message), i told her no such person was here and she verified my # and then said that she would "block it off" which is an indication they are just grabbing at numbers with no hard information on contacting the debtor. Incidentally, the person's name bore no resemblance to mine at all so I'm nto sure how they got the number. I did not give her my name.
I keep getting calls from this service. It’s West Asset Management – a collection agency. I called back and they told me they are looking for someone I don’t know. Washington, DC is on my caller ID.
I have been getting calls, messages for someone who doesn't live here, and hang-ups from this number, which only reads as "Washington, DC" on the caller ID. This morning, I answered, and a human being asked for, yet again, someone who couldn't have had this number for four years--at least. I said, "No, no one is here by that name," and she said, "Well why did she give us your number as a contact?" I told her I didn't know, and she said did I know anyone by this name who would give my nubmer. No, I don't. She was rude, implied I must be lying, and so I gave up and said, "I don't care why this person gave you my number. Just don't call here again." What sort of scam is this? Are they trying to scare people into paying debts they don't owe?
please deal with these fraud scammers, they call several times a week, state they are from a collection agency for an account we don't even have, there is no ID but 2 numbers, 202-607-2913 above 888-806-2999 and the jerk at X33 is extremely rude and wants info and money. He says he is representing a Wachovia Bank collection issue which isn't anything to do with me
