i recieved a call and this person wanted me to go to nearest western union. get a yellow and white form and then back outside the place of business. had to have id, cell phone and 200 dollars
I got a call from 202-621-0241 from a guy named Kavin morriss He gave me a file # his badge # a phone number to contact and an adress of 200 independace way HHH building s.w. Washington DC 20201. Said he was from the I.R.S. & that I was "qualified" to recieve $7000 from filing my taxes, along with 3000 other people. All I had to do was go to the western union & pay $200"completely refundable deposit." The adress is in fact a government building, but human services is in it. The 202 prefix is washington DC. He also said not to tell western union to avoid the "taxes" taken out of the mony to be recieved. I am in the process of reporting this to Better buisness buereo, the I.R.S. and any other government agency they say they are and my local police department. I also posted on Face book about this SCAM. Please do the same so we can stop these criminals from taking our hard earned money.
I had the same guy Oscar call me while I was at work but he told me that the 8,000 would be sent western union to me, but nothing about sending him 200 dollars. I guess he was just waiting for me to get to the western union to tell me about the 200. I say we give this number 202-621-0241 to everyone we know and post it on every web site and find out who this guy really is because someone out there knows. Then bring him to justice. He is claming to work for the federal goverment, why is our goverment not stopping these people?
Received phone call from Abby Parker - US Federal Grant Department Health and Human Services. Gave address, phone number, employee ID. Said I was selected because of my great credit history over the last 6 months and because I am such a model citizen. Told her I thought she had some of her facts incorrect and she hung up, so I called back. Another woman with a distinctly foreign accent talked with me and also very difficult to understand with lots of noise in the background - I kept asking her to speak slowly and go to a quieter place. She told me about sending $200 in good faith to demonstrate what a good person I am. I asked her how she got her job because there are so many US Citizens who need jobs and was surprised the US Govt would hire her. Also told her our government does not call people and take their word for it that they are the person they are asking for. Asked for no verification of who I was, and that our govt. does not ask us to send them money, but there are lots of scams that do that. She said they were not forcing us to take the money if we didn't want it. Said I could not use it for illegal purposes. And wanted me to tell her if I was going to go to the Western Union. Told her not yet. She said something about not telling anyone but I told her I was going to check it out on Facebook. She hung up.
Got the same call today. Kristina Watson emp # 1259., my id # 3388.
Exact same as above from other peeps...didn't do it...sounded fishy when they asked for money. I don't trust it.
