Wow...I knew this was a scam...I don't trust people that calls my cell number and have an accent. He told me the same thing you were told but I refuse to give them any bank information and I refuse to call "Janet Morris with a code S010S010" are they serious to think I will fall for this. I am going to report this to the news so everyone can be aware of this...because they are going to get someone that will fall for this...I was stupid and gave them my address...How do I know if this isn't a terriosts.I am pissed now.
"Jim Clark" with a thick African accent called made the same claim that I was selected to receive a $7000 in grant money. I was given the number (202) 240-5495 to call and talk to Janet Morris and use a code number AR###. I had the choice of receiving the money in my account a credit card or in cash. I told him I wanted cash and that delayed his offer for a couple seconds. I called that number 2 days later and it rang and rang with no answer so I dialed it again in 5 minutes. This time a woman answered who identified herself as Janet Morris of the US Treasury Dept. before I even spoke. She then told me my name and address. She said I did not have to pay it back and I did not have to pay any taxes on it and I could use it for school or home improvements or whatever I wanted to use it for. She said, "You indicated you want it in cash?" I told her that I prefer to have it in a check. She said, "O.K." and verified my address again. When I asked why I was getting this grant money, she said it was because I had never declared bankruptcy and had no arrest records and paid all my bills on time. When I said, "where are you located?" and "this sounds to good to be true", the phone went to a busy signal. I called back and it rang, then went to a busy signal again. A check of the phone number shows that it is a Washington DC area code but could not find any information about the number. She did not ask me to give her any money or any credit card number. Is this a scam? When I had asked "Jim Clark" why they couldn't just send a check in the mail, he had said, "because mail gets lost."
I just got this call as well. But was asked to send a western union deposit to them in the amount of 300 and someting. I am not going to send someone money. But was courious if anything ever came of this for you? Was it a scam? I cannot find anything about this either.

I got a call from this number. The man had a thick indian accent. He informed me I had been selected to receive a 7K govt. grant. He required that I let him know if I wanted paid on my creit card, in my bank or in cash. He informed me they don't mail checks. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR INFORMATION!!!!!
jsut got the same call game me a number to call back with upon doing so whanted my bank #or cc # to deposit 7 k when i told her she could send prepaid car she fliped out and told me she would call me back while talking to her i looked up # found that this is a scam so i told her so bet they dont call back be ware
