I found how to get rid of this caller - American Institute for Cancer Research. The calls are placed by InfoCision. Contact the Better Business Bureau, Wise Gift Alliance Department, in Washington, D.C. (area code 202) and file a complaint. Explain in detail what is going on, including asking to be taken off the calling list and all telephone numbers used (I know of six). The BBB will then contact AICR and in a week or so you will receive an e-mail telling you that your number has been removed from their calling list. You might also want to read an article about them at http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-09-12/char ... lemarketer.html.
Received several calls from this number and 202-607-2927 from June 1-8, 2011...so far. They don't wait for my voicemail to pick up...just three rings and hang up if I don't answer. Says on caller ID that it's "Washington DC." Maybe the President wants to invite me to dinner at the W.H.??? Doubt it, though. If so, he would most likely have his office secretary leave a message rather than hang up. Maybe DC is trying to warn "worthy" individuals to get the 7734 out of California before the next "BIG ONE" hits??? Lots of smaller shakers have been rumbling around Los Angeles lately along the Rose Hills fault near Santa Monica, as well as all along the San Andreas from Mexico to Oregon. I'd advise moving FAR inland from the coast even if the Fed's don't give a clear warning. I wish they'd just leave a voicemail. Very annoying.
Actually this is the American Institue(spelling!) for Cancer. They want you send out cards to your neighbors or if you can't do that they want a donation.
We have received calls from this number at various times since June 1st as well. No message, just a hang up before the voice mail kicks in. Very annoying!
