This number called me said his name was Derek and he is from cash advance and that I got a loan and all he needs is my on line banking info and the money will be on my account today not going for it been scam away to much sick people
Just got a call from the above that left me a voice mail. Called back and got their voice mail, stating they were the tax office of IRS...always they have Indian accents, not sure why that is. Left a message that I was with the Dept of Treasury and we'd appreciate their cooperation when we arrived at their office. :-) Hope that gives them a moment or two of distress....:-D
Got a call from this number, and a message on my cell number was a recorded voice from a Chris Fernandez or Hernandez senior officer with the IRS Tax evasion department stating that an audit linking my name and SSN had been done, and this item was time sensitive as this case was being downloaded to the courts ... of course I called them back immediately to check on the matter.... I got an answering machine... in broken English the message said "tax evasion dept is unable to take your call as we are away from our desks or on another call leave your name and phone number" the message made me think it was a scam because there was nothing to indicate it being the IRS... no phone tree... not thank you for calling the IRS... it was weird...you would think that calling the IRS you would have some identifier of it being their offices rather than the message I heard. I left my name and number... and have not yet received a call back, but the message i got when i called, immediately made me start wondering if this was a scam... thus my search of the Internet and finding your comments too! Thanks to all who have commented... Looks like this is most likely a scam... and I'll be prepared if they call again!
The IRS will never call you. They will notify you with a letter. This is a scam. You can listen to a ton of videos people have posted on UTube on scamming the IRS scammers. Pretty funny.
