Assuming this was a scam, I called them back to mess with them. My call was answered and they said they were with the IRS and asked my name. I asked for his name first. "Alex Right." I said your last name is "right"? spelled like "r - i - g - h - t"? Yes. And you're from the IRS? yes. Are you on LinkedIn? I'd like to confirm who you are. hung up.
I received the exact same call on the same day you did Jimmy. I never answer my phone because of all the telemarketer bullcrap so I let it go to voicemail. The recording said their records indicate that I have outstanding taxes that I failed to respond to their "previous notifications" lol and to call back asap. Right then I knew it was a scam. The IRS would never call a person esp without identifying themselves. They would correspond by mail and I would definitely know about that. It's sad that they do this to people esp the elderly. Shame on their sorry lives.
