Could you open an account or charge something to a phone number by simply saying yes and nothing else? Try it and see for yourself how it goes!
I think it is very irresponsible for anyone to help spread this "yes" Rumor, without first investigating any possibilities towards its validity.
Ask yourself this:
What scam scenario would ONLY work with a recording of you saying yes and couldn't work without it?How would a caller know who answered, it could be your wife/husband/mom/dad or anyone who answered your phone and said 'yes' that gets recorded.What legitimate company would allow anyone to charge a client's phone or open an account with only a recording of someone saying yes?
The Yes Scam is merely a rumor and unproven to have any validity that it could work. There may be scams where you agreed to something unwittingly and got recorded, but they need much more than a simple recording of a voice saying yes.
Saying 'yes' alone has no impact on pulling a scam, since a scammer could just as easily say 'yes' themselves . They wouldn't know its you or some family member who answered your phone, so recording a 'yes' is pretty redundant.
They have called me 26 times today and 12 times yesterday they don't say anything getting very pissed off I have told the police they are looking into it
A call blocker will stop this number from calling you anymore. Most phones now have a built-in option to put a call on block as well as many phone carriers.
Have received several calls from out of state today. Happened to answer this one and after they claimed to be from the US Treasury Department, which I've heard before, I politely asked to be removed from the list and to stop calling. After the guy said he'd remove me, he went on to call me a "Mo**er Fu**er" 5 or so times in just a few seconds. I'll take that all day if these people actually remove me from the list!
OMG so annoying. Called three times and I finally answered. I told them to stop calling and a thick-accented man said "why?"
I said "it's annoying." He said "why annoying?" Good grief. Just block these [***].
