call and told me that i qaulify for a $7000 government grant and that he's calling from the treasury department of us. he sounded like a indian man and there's alot of vioces in the back gorund. it's a scam if anyone gets this call!
Got the same call. Stated he needed my bank account number to deposit check immediatly. He stated this was the only secure way to do it. I said the only way I would accept is if he sent the check via mail with no account info. He wanted me to call his supervisor. I said just send the check and the coversation ended. THIS IS A SCAM.
I got a phone call from this phone number saying that they were going to send me 7,000 dollars. It was the same thing that the people above are talking about. It was an indian sounding voice and there was a lot of talking in the backround. They said that they were calling from the US dept. of treasury. IT IS A SCAM!
My wife got over 10 calls on this issue. She also stated it sounded foreign and that they wanted $1500 at Western Union for a $9900 check, that the $1500 was included in the $9900, so it would be for free. I told her to contact the Better Business Bureau. I also checked Snopes and found it to be a scam.
