Got a call from a Private number claiming to be the IRS. Automated robo call stating that this is the final notice before IRS will sue and to call 202-657-5797.
when you call a "business" before office hours you get a recording with the company name and business hours. If you get a recording that says the number you have reached is unavailable at this time there's a problem! The bad part is my poor husband got so freaked out his blood pressure went sky high. These people need to be locked up!
Got a message on my home voicemail stating that this is a last chance before the IRS will take action to sue. Told to return call to 1-202-657-5797. I returned the call and the foreigner stated that his name was Detective Nance badge# 50786 regarding case # DC1928 and that I owe for years 2008-2012 and I owe $75,896 in back taxes and that they were prepared to set up payment arrangements but if not they would take action against my finances, home, & vehicles. When I told him that I was calling the real IRS he threatened to disconnect my phone services. LOL that can't be because I called you from my cell phone not my home. SCAMMMMMMMMEEEEERRRRRRRSSSSSSS
Funny- I just came across your post while I had them on the phone. I google searched the case# they gave me (DC1928) and found your article. They were telling me I owed like $4k from 2010-2014 and that the Fed was suing me. Then they transferred me to someone with the same Indian accent. I asked for their manager and another person with the same accent. Definitely a scam- they claimed their names were things like "Agent Smith", "Officer Scott", etc.
Same exact thing happened to me. googling number did not reveal anything, but when i googled the case DC1928 it showed this post. So reposting what everyone else said, SCAM - Final notice before IRS takes action. THEY ALSO HAD MY REAL HOME ADDRESS, but it can't be that hard to find out. Indian Accent, Agent Kevin Smith (LOL) Badge number DS1545 6800$ of owed taxes and previous attempts to reach me by mail "bounced". he was reading my charges and i told him to his face it was a scam.
Hope less aware people will not fall this BS.
