I received a voice mail from 202-657-5898 stating it was the IRS and that they had instituted a lawsuit against me for past due taxes. The VM didn't have an amount - just this number to call. I DO have past due taxes, but I have a payment arrangement in place that is an automated payment from my checking account. The total remaining is well under $1000, and it is inconceivable to me that the IRS would sue me for such a small amount when I am making regular payments.
Same call I received the other day from 360-780-3095. Say they are IRS...blaa, blaa, blaa. Again...IRS don't file lawsuits. IRS doesn't call. It's a scam.
