I got a call from this number saying a friend had given me a $9,500.00. They asked for my bank number, credit card or social security number. I refused to do this. She then gave me a phone number to call. I have not made that call nor do I intend to. The call came in on my cell phone.
I've got a call confirmation number an amount number saying that they were from the grant and Treasury Department. I was suspicious from the get-go new the catch was coming soon. So after giving me a confirmation number which is NY 128 and giving me a name of William Rayes, telling me to call back and talk to a Matthew an extension 2250. How to speak with the supervisor which informs me that they want me to send them for fees of application of $195. I told him I did not have money and have to wait till I got paid. Knew it was a scam played along wanted to see what it was. That's what it is I elected to get the money via Western Union which is the confirmation code listed above but I had to be on the phone with the people while the transaction to Western Union was happening. And I guess what they want to do but have you fill out the Western Union read quest form for the money is then they get your information because it's plugged into the system so it's like a reverse skip trace.
