Call from James Thompson from the Federal Grant Department. Stating I was selected a once in a lifetime federal grant of $10,000. I was selected as they peformed a demographic survey to help me with inancial improvement. He gave me a name and phone number to call and speak with the Sr. Accountant by the name of Amanda Parker at 202-657-6761. to verify with her and give her an ID no.of Lt0292AFG. Before he hung up he verified with me my address, and asked me my age and if I was married. He also asked me what I would do with the money. He also added that it would be required for that amount that I would have to select and donate a fee to a charity on my own in the amt. of $150.00. He did ask me how I would want to receive the money as it could be direct deposted or a check sent. I knew enough to not give out any personal information and all during this call I was thinking is this for real and asked him if I call the number back that it would be answered federat grant department and he said yes. I have not called this Amanda Parker and feel I need to contact someone in a fraud department which I will have to locate who to call in my area.

I just got the exact same call. Same people, same phone number, ID number LB instead of LT. I called this Amanda Parker and asked for a bunch of information. I have concluded that it is a scam. I asked for their website twice, and got two different websites, one of which didn't exist. When I told them I couldn't make it to the bank today, they said there would be a late fee to get it tomorrow because "they can't send just one check to California". I think you should report them because it is a fake. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be scammed!
