Called my 88 year old mother telling her they were the IRS and was going to sue her. She told them she had to talk to me before she would give them any money. She was so distraught when I talked to her I thought she was going to have a heart attack. It took me awhile to make her understand that the IRS doesn't call you they send an official letter. I wish there was a way for the IRS to track these people down.
they called and left the same message. I knew it was a scam, called them back and demanded to know their name and their officer ID #, which every IRS agent has. They hung up on me. You can also report the phone number to the IRS as a fraudulent call.
