Calls my house multiple times a day, saying "You have been randomly selected by the government to receive $8,000". My husband told the man not to call here again, and as soon as he did so, the man began cussing him out, said something along the lines of "I will scam you {something unintelligible}", more cussing, then hung up. Whatever, dude, we're too smart for you. Stop calling us, and go fall off a cliff. Please.
Was advised that I was selected by the government to receive an $8400 grant because I had no criminal record and had never been behind on my taxes. The caller was an Indian lady. I had to ask her to repeat what she said because of the connection and it was hard to understand her. I told her it sounded weird and I was not giving her any account information. She then took another tone and asked, "M'am are you interested or not?" I told her no and she hung up abruptly.
Same thing happened to me. Multiple calls from District Of Colombia- 202-666-1189. Never left a message. Caller ID says District of Colombia. One day I picked up. Caller with Indian accent said I was entitled to a government grant- $8400, and he asked for my address. I said if you work for the government and you have my phone number, then you would know my address. Tone changed immediately- irritated and raising voice- "Fine, you don't want the money?!!" and abruptly hung up. They obviously hate it when they reach someone who is too smart for their scams.
