Harrasment calls from 202-666-2244. They keep calling, many times they don't reply when we answer the phone. Finally they talked with my wife. This is their story:
Since we are a good citizen, we pay our bills on line, and haven't been convicted of a crime in the last 6 month. We have been given a grant of $8,000 that we can use any way we want. Shortly after this, the line goes dead.
Here is the suspected hook. If you call them back, that is when they have access or will be able to scam you. It is you, voluntarily making the call. The line is probably some pay by the minute at $10 a minute. They will probably have more delays, more call backs, charging even more money. Finally, instead of getting the $8k, you just get a whopping phone bill.
So far, the couple caller who have talked, speak fairly good english, but have a definite foreign accent.
If in the extreme remotest chance I'm wrong. It's no wonder this country is in so much debt it can't be reduced. Giving this much money to those with such low standards, stimulates the illegal markets, and exploits those who are unfortunate.
Oh. They will call back again after not falling for their hang up scam. Probably hopping you will call them to stop calling them. If you do, you just got hooked.

I received a call this morning from the same phone number.
She asked me if I was DZ, I said yes. She said she was calling from Washington DC, I said you did not sound like your from Washington DC.
With a change in the tone of her voice she said she was. I said OK.
She went on to tell me because I was a good citizen, the Federal Government choose about 1500 names. People who have never filed bankruptcy, who didn't owe any back taxes and paid their bills on time.
The Federal Government wanted to give me 8400.00$ to spend any way I wanted to. I did not have to pay any grants with it, it was mine to spend any way I wanted to and did not have to pay it back.
All I had to do was give her a card number. Even if the card was in the negative, or my bank number they would do a direct deposit. I said great how about mailing me a check.
She hung up on me. I wish there was a way to make sure everyone was made aware of these numbers and scams.
they keep calling me and once i told them that I am not interested. They just keep calling back and harassing me. I wonder if there are ways to report to police
