Dianne, what makes you think these types of callers read these comments? They don't care if you don't like it, and they don't care if you're on the Do Not Call list. These callers are criminals, and by definition, they don't care what the law says. Most of them are calling from another country (usually India) and are spoofing phone numbers to make it look like the call originated in the U.S. Spend a few bucks for your land line and get a call blocker. There are many good ones. Google it. For your cell phone, see if there is an option to block unwanted calls. Other than that, don't answer calls from numbers you don't recognize. Changing your phone number doesn't help because the callers use robo-dialers that call numbers in sequence until they get a live one. Oh, and never, ever give out any personal information, such as birth date, social security number, bank account number, credit card info, address, etc. to anyone unless you are the one that initiated the call.
This is an Indian-based scam. They are spoofing the 202 area code to make it seem as if they are from DC. They do not , as a rule read this forum and don't know who you are. They are hard core scammer/extortionists. Your best bet is a call blocker and do not pick up on calls you do not recognize.
I've also been getting the same call. I've only answered it a few times (and no one answered) and when I answered it this time the guy took at least 2 seconds to answer after I said "Hello?" twice. It was an Indian man (from India) and he asked for me but I jus hung up. Most likely this guy is a Credit Card Scam but I don't know if it's a political call
A lady with a chineese accent said she was calling from the US Treasury Dept and that they had selected me as a grant winner to receive $8400.00 but in order to receive it I had to give out my bank account information or credit card info. I strung her along as long as I could but finally hung up. They would not send me the money by check due to "Federal Regulations". A total fraud scam. BEWARE!!!
