It is a scam.
The government does not offer grants to individuals for personal use.
It is a scam ran by off shore con artists to trick you into sending unrecoverable money to them, you get nothing in return.
The only legitimate avenue for government grants is through www.grants.gov which is the official US government webs site for grants.

Know who you're dealing with on the web. Scam artists will often post a website with a name similar to a legitimate site.
If you have provided personal banking information to anyone claiming to be associated with a Federal grant agency, call your bank immediately to prevent unauthorized access to your account.
If you receive a call, mail, email, FAX, or any other form of communication soliciting you for a grant, STOP.

I spoke with a person who called herself stephanie styler who claimed she had a government grant of 9,000 for me and all I had to do was purchase a green dot voucher that cost 4.95 and reload 230.00 on it and that my grant approval number was kn500 n I would get my 9,000 from western union. She said this money was free from the government since I paid my taxes last year n I didnt file bankruptcy, they had verified my address and name and I asked what company this was and the address she gave me the name as the financial government and the address as 200 independence ave, washington, d.c. 20201. I asked if the money was free why did I have to send any money, she said she didnt have time to answer anymore of my questions cuz she had other phone calls to take care of. Where do they get our info from and our cell ph numbers. Why did they use an unlisted number to have someone call first by the name of ken smith who certainly isnt from the u.s. give us another persons name and phone number then feed us a bunch of bs only to get money from us
I had the same exact thing that happend to me, however, I a NYS person trying to verify if this is real and to bust them for scamming the public, I have autism, and I am trying to reveal who the person who is trying to scam me and expose them for who they reallty are!
I just received a call from someone who said that I had been chosen to receive a financial grant because back in December I filled out a survey. A one time only grant from our government. That I was supposed to go to western Union to pick it up. But first I have to call Tiffany Tyler and she will help me retrieve it from western Union. This is the number he gave me to call 202-684-6525. He was calling from 203-923-4781. Can anyone shed any light on this number? Please.
Almost convinced until Ms. Tiffany mentioned that 250.00 dollar fee which would be refunded. People are crazy how could you be so deceitful I can't imagine having such a fraudulent job!
I GOT THE CALL TODAY AND I WAS TOLD 200.00 FOR 9200.00 I CALLED MY MOM AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO HER IF ITS FREE SEND IT TO ME FREE I AM DIABLED WITH NO INCOME WAITING ON DISABLITY. I DONT HAVE THAT. I NEEDED THIS GRANT MOMEY AND BECAUSE YOU SAY THAT I GET FREE GRANT MONEY I SHOULDNT HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT TAKE THE 200.00 OUT OF THE 9200.00 YOU SAY I GET FREE!!!!!!! AND BY READING THESE OTHER POSTS EVERY ONE IS HAVING TO PAY A DIFFERENT AMOUNT FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY.
