A little extreme but these calls DO NOT represent any politcal organization. It is just a scam to doop money from your pockets. In this day and age, it is best to NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE. Especially financial and ID.
IF you want to give, TRUST ME, there are probably tons of local and statewide and nationally recognized organization with offices and personnel to take your donations. Be smart folks.
One of the easiest scams is to use your gullibility. Dont fall for it.
NEVER EVER EVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE. Period.
These criminals are not associated with any political organization. They are using your gullibility to steal your money. Know the signs. Caller ID stated wireless caller, according to FTC and FCC rules, Caller ID must be accurate and during the call the caller MUST state who they are affiliated with or the organization/company who is making the call. Plus, YOU CANT USE FAKE/SPOOFED numbers.
I fear that a lot of people have fallen for this scam. If so, please contact your local police department, report the call to the Do Not Call list and immediately contact your bank/credit card company.
People, during an election year, if you want to give, TRUST ME, there are probably plenty of worthy, well known organizations, political groups, etc in your area, or state wide that you can ACTUALLY visit (offices, campain fundraisers, etc) to donate. Never ever give out personal information over the phone. Plus ALL political organizations will opt you out or SEND YOUU INFORMATION THROUGH THE MAIL.
Please report these calls to the Do Not Call list and other appropriate authorities and more importantly, WARN OTHERS.
We get these calls from many different numbers in the 202 area code. You block one number and they just use another one. Like cockroaches. I noticed that there are a block of complaints from back in May, and now they're recycling that phone number in Aug/Sept. Caller ID is the best invention since the phone itself was invented.
These phone calls may stop after the election, but what about the other calls I get each day ... from a different # with different sales pitches... security systems, cruises, "no one on the line again" ? .... I wish my caller ID was in large print so I wouldn't have to get my glasses every time the phone rings! Sometimes I'm watching TV and it flashes on in the corner but I don't sit in front of my TV all night.
