I got a call from a lady at this number. She said I would get 10,200 dollars for a car from a federal government grant. My family really needs a car to transport my mom who is handicapped. I gave her my card number but not the money yet. Should I cancel my card? No money is gone from it yet.
I got two calls today stating that there is federal grant money in the amount of $10,200 available for me. I gave the person a bogus credit card number just to see how things would proceed (I was told that in order to get this money, I'd have to provide my savings or checking account number and my bank's routing number OR a credit card number of a card that has a $0 balance). I was given this telephone number to call in order to "claim" my money, along with a confirmation number. When I called it, the woman who answered asked me to call back in 15 minutes. I've not called back yet.
SCAM! Which I knew from the start, but I thought it would be fun to mess with them.
