I think you have to sign up on the "Do Not Call" registry every few years. It also only stops calls from "unknown numbers" IF, and I stress that word, IF the people calling even get the list and go through it to see who doesn't want to be called.
You're welcome. The organization responsible for the calls is the Conservative Majority Fund, 2776 S. Arlington Mill Drive #806, Arlington, VA 22206. They've been calling people in four swing states, according to an article I read.
On 11/21/12 I received a robocall from 202-719-0493 (I have caller ID). It was an automated message and the "caller" spoke so quickly that I was unable to get the name of the "organization" he said he was calling from but it went on to talk about efforts to impeach President Obama, claiming among many things that he is not a legitimate citizen of the United States. It asked for contributions and gave me a choice to press "1" to do so or "9" to not. They did provide a telephone number to unsubscribe from further calls but it was given at a speed so fast, it was impossible to understand. I had a pen in my hand and was ready to write it down but could not. I tried to return the call to the number on my caller id (again, 202-719-0493) but got a message that the number I was trying to reach was "disconnected or no longer in service." I am furious that I received such this call. I have signed a :do not call" agreement several years ago and am in no way associated with any group that suggest impeaching our President.

just got this call- on a sunday, no less. I've had a stroke & don't need to make my way to the phone to hear these outright lies. My phone is for my use & since I pay the bill, nobody should bother me for this.
