I recieved a call on January 17, 2011 from a man by the name of Richard Matthews. He said he worked for the government for an agency by the name of First Alliance Management and that I had won $250,000 and they would send a Brinks truck with my check and accompany me to the bank. Once the bank cashed the check, all I needed to do was pay them $1000. He also said the name of the sweepstakes company was name American Sweepstakes Network and their address was 9500 Club Hill Drive, Raleigh, NC 27654. I was suppose to call them at 1800-951-3515 and they would verify my winnings and they I was to call him back. I looked up the address and it does not exist. Part of the address in a redential area in a place called Morrison, NC. It is a street called Club Hill Dr, however, it is a housing development called Brier Creek, and I could not find 9500 on the Google map, but I did find 9505. I did see a nice golf course. I wasnt going to give them a dime. I have been getting calls like this since December 2010.
called me and said he was from the anti fraud center and that I really did win the 450,000 and for me to pay the insurance money to have it sent to me they got me once but not again and another phone number for them is 1-800-951-3515they say they are the AQmerican sweepstakes network and want to send you your winnings
Mary, I received the same call on the same week as you about the same thing, same amount of prize winnings, same company name and would like to know what you mean by "they got me once." Did you pay them the 1% of the winnings?
I was told to deposit the money to a bank called Sovereign Bank under the name of Patricia Ann Roberts in Reading, PN. I have their account and routing number information as well.
I believe they are false and if anyone receives their call, please ignore them. I was told by the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) that if you ever win a sweepstakes prize you will never have to pay shipping and handling, insurance, or any other type of "fee" for your winnings.
These people are a SCAM along with those Jamaicans that call saying you've won a 2011 Merceders-Benz.
