Claim to be from US Federal Grant office. TOTAL BS. The minute they figured out I had a brain they hung up. If you try to call back the line is always busy. Obviously scammers looking for some naive person to victimize.
Called my cell several times to speak to my mom (who's deceased) and said it was my responsibility then. I hung up and blocked. I'm not dumb. I work for the government. We don't call people to harass. We don't have numbers to call. We send letters via USPS plus I live in NJ. SMH at these scammers.
Caller told me he was calling on behalf of the United States Federal Government. He said several times he was calling from Washington DC. He informed me the government was giving out $9000 to people as long as they were going to use it wisely like home renovations or repairs. He knew my name and he asked if I was working. I told him I was on disability. He asked me if I was married and I told him yes. I had been suspicous before but now I was sure there wasn't something right. He told me there was 3 ways to recieve the money:
1) Have it be put into my bank account. To which I was adamant would never get him by bank account in#ormation.
2) The second option was to get it through grants. (I didn't understand half of what he was saying.
) Option 3 was to recieve the money he cslled it money counts from Walmart. I simply had to go to Cordele Wamart and give them the confirmation code which was KRS92. After I got the money I was to callhe following #: 202552677. I'm sorry I apparently number getting one of the call back numbers. He did tell me his name is William Price.
I asked throughout the conversation. For a Company name or his name but he just said he worked for the United States Federal Government
