Who called from 2027548239

Received a voice message from 202-754-8239, persons name was Jack and claims to be with Arapaho County CO. Very heavy foreign accent. Said I will be arrested If I do not call Steven White at the IRS. This is an IRS SCAM.

I received a call from 404-298-8100, I didn't answer so they left a voice message. This guy has a very thick Indian accent stated his name is James Connor with the Dekalb County Sheriffs office and that I should contact James Woodson,who is a Federal Agent with the IRS, at 202-754-8239. He said I should contact Mr. Woodson within 30 mins or else they will arrest me and show up at my job.

There are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department. These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made. Do not provide personal information or payment to these individuals.  Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.

If they claim to be from Treasury, report  it to [email protected] with a description.  If it was a phone contact, include:
the exact date and time that you received the call(s)
the phone number of the caller
the geographic location and time zone where you received the call
a description of the communication.

If they claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or it is about taxes, report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at:

Received same message from same number with heavy foreign accent threatening in name of IRS though it sounds like SCAM clearly.

Caller left voicemail in my first and last name. Heavy Indian accent and said he was Jack Rogers, Badge number 5927 with Denton County Sheriff's Depart. Said this was a complaint about relocation and to call Federal Agent Steven White with the IRS. When I called I spoke with this guy and he said this was the IRS, I said IRS and he said yes. I said the Internal Revenue Service and he said yes. I replied this was not the IRS and he said F-you twice. I hung up.
