Scammers are using it-the phone company owns this number (and all numbers)-the number could be spoofed/fake. The scammers are probably not in the USA. Just know it's a scam-there is no free money. Do not answer unknown calls and do not call them back. To stop scammers use a call blocking device/phone (or call blocking app for your smart phone).
