Christina,More than a year ago, I was first contacted by these filthy, little animals, when I received a call from something calling itself "John Baker." In any event, this "John" was calling to tell me I had won 2.5 million dollars from "Mega Millions" in Las Vegas. It instructed me to get a Green Dot Money card from CVS, load it with $499.25 to pay for my "registration fees." A few days after this call, I was shocked to see this particular scam featured on ABC World News. During that segment, they played the audio of a conversation between an elderly woman - who had already sent them $85,000 - and one of these black stained rodents.
It appears (and personally confirmed this past Friday, when "David Anderson" from Washington called) that these roaches have begun using much more aggressive, threatening tactics (e.g. "if you hang up, you will be arrested.") There have been numerous reports (both here and on the local media,) of intended victims being contacted by bogus IRS agents. There have also been a few reports that they are specifically targeting spouses of our deployed servicemen.
Spread the word, these vile creatures need to be stopped. Permanently.
I got a call at home from 911 that I will be arrested unless I call 2027548571 to Kevin Nash. The guy had a heavy Indian accent and read me my case, to settle right away by paying around $4000 dollars. I already reported this to irs complain
I've gotten this call twice in the last couple of weeks. Voice sounds same (thick, Indian accent), 2nd time the name sounded like James Anderson and that he was calling from the IRS. Slightly altered spiel each time -- both resulting in "you could be arrested." Caller ID is blocked, leaves number at 202-754-8571. Reported it via tigta.gov. -- use the red Report IRS Impersonation Scam button.
Same guy David Cooper called me claiming that the IRS had audited my taxes and that I had willingly deceived the IRS. Told me that if I did not pay him $3942 over the phone, all my assets would be frozen and I would be arrested. First time he called he said he was David Anderson then changed to David Cooper. I told him to F**k off and that hte IRS does not conduct business this way in trying to collect cash upfront. After checking all of your postings, I called him back and told him he was a piece of sh*t and that we all knew what he was up. He just cracked up and hung up.
