Left message. Garbled and hard to decipher. Something about check recovery investigation that supposedly linked me with someone whose name I did not recognize. I did not respond.
I just got a call from this number from a man who said he was a lawyer selected to represent me and that he worked for PRG and Associates. He said if I didn't pay $1,780 by the end of the month I would be thrown in jail for check fraud. I have been so freaked out all day trying to find out if this is legitimate or not. He seemed to know a lot of accurate information about me and past employeers. Including my whole social security number. I am worried that he is going to get into my bank account and take out any money that I may get. I don't understand how these sick people can do this to people during the holidays. I am having a hard enough time trying to figure out how I am going to get a present for my daughters to put under the tree!!!
Got a message from "William Easton with PRG and Associates" from this number last month. When I called back he explained about an account they had on me concerning a credit card I once had that hadn't been paid off and a civil suite that was scheduled to be filed. The credit card was from 4 years ago and just got put on my credit report last March (strange??). I ended up reluctantly paying the balance off to get this to go away. I just received documents in the mail today stating that PRG took care of this for me and the civil suite was dropped, to say the very least I was surprised. I went to check my credit report and they reported the payment to the credit bureaus and that cleaned my score up a little. All in all I am glad I took care of it even though the settlement was WAY TOO MUCH MONEY. And one more thing.... the man at PRG and Associates, he knew a lot and was professional but he could have been a lot nicer!!!! So "Mr. Easton" if you read this - thanks for the help but you don't have to be a jerk!!! be happy bro, smile!!!
