I received a call from this number 202-779-5011 saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to call this number. I know that I always pay my taxes so I knew it was a scam, so I googled it to see if other people had received the same call and they had. I am reporting this number so other people can be warned against the scam.
Ditto as others---received a call from 201-779-5011. This is the second time something like this occurred. The first time I actually believed the msg and called back. The language was strong and abusive--threatening me....until i asked where they were calling from and the person hung up
I called this number and they claim they are from the IRS. It is clearly from India, the accent is a dead giveaway. I gave wrong name but they can verify based on the number you called. Scammers. They ask for last four digit of your SS number. They just put the phone down on you if you give them different information.
