I received a call saying I was eligible for a $9000.00 grant and to call the number 202-780-8469 for the account manager so that they can release my money. I did not call the number. The call came in as no caller ID
Good that you didn't call the number as this is a complete and utter scam. The govenment doesn't just give grants to random people, you have to apply for them. And when you do, you don't have to pay to receive it. And you most certainly DON'T pay the government for ANYTHING with an iTunes or other type gift card. Just block and ignore these calls.
I received a call from a private number and answered and it was a foreign person with horrible english. He said that I had been randomly selected for a goverment grant of $9,000 because I've never filed bankruptcy and am not a felon. He could pay me three ways either direct deposit, credit card or western union or a walmart. he gave me a security id number and a number to call back to reach the federal account that would give me the rest of the info. I told him I'd they had money to send...send it to my house because he already read my address to me. He just replied to call the number which I did not since it obviously a fraud.
