Live caller said he was working for a fundraising company on behalf of the American Lung Association and he wanted me to distribute pledge cards on my street. I have gotten the same pitch from other fundraising companies that were listed in America's Worst Charities list.
Note the funds raised go to the fundraising company, they extract their fees and expenses and send on a fraction to the charity. I said no way Jose. If you want to donate to a charity, do it directly and not through a fundraising company.
