I got this call too on my call waiting.When I looked at my caller ID it said it was Charter and showed the 202-800-5566 number.When I checked my voicemail it left a "dead air" message.I am a Charter customer,but they have never contacted me from that number and they always leave a message as to what they are calling about.Beware because I think this is someone else using their name.
I have received serveral calls from this number (202-800-5566) and when I answer, there is no one there. The call ends and when I try to call the number back, I get a busy dial tone.

I am a Charter customer also. When I answered a recording said "this is a call from Charter" please call us at" and they left a different number than the caller ID. I didn't have a paper and pen to write the number down.
Got called 4 times. Answered the last call and got this recorded message: You have been contacted by your local cable company. If you have any questions about this call, call 1-800-XXX-XXX. This was the complete message and then they hung up. I have no idea what this was about. The number is out of DC and I live in the Boston area. I will now just add it to my blocked list.
