My gentleman identified himself as a paralegal at a law firm calling about a criminal case against me. I never got to the scam part -- when he couldn't provide any info, I ended the call. Thanks for everyone posting here -- there's always a tiny part of you that worries "what if that was real?"
I got a voice mail on my cell phone similar to what you all have been talking about. Twice, Monday and Tuesday
The caller had an Indian accent, much static in the background. I couldn't even make out his name or where he was from. But when I go back and listen again, I can make out IRS, but still cannot make out a name. His demeanor was very threatening. This all seems strange because I am not in trouble with the IRS. When I Googled the phone number, I found all of these other similar complaints. I thought this was a scam!
I tried to call the phone number back that was left. Now there is a busy signal. Hopefully this scam has been shut down!
So I got a call from (202) 800-7730 claiming they were from the IRS but hearing his accent, it sounded more like Indians R Us. He kept calling so I went off on him and he said why am I abusive so I told him you haven't seen abusive, wait till I find you and I'll show you abusive. =) He finally left a message and said he will call my employer and will get fired and no one can save me now. LOL
I received a call from someone with a foreign accent (possibly Indian) who claimed to be working for the IRS and said there was a criminal charges against me and that I would be arrested. I asked him what the charges were and he told me he wasn't allowed to say. He told me to call (202) 800-7730 and ask for Alex Watson. I did and a man claiming to be Alex Watson (also with a foreign accent) told me that a warrant has been issued for my arrest for failing to pay my taxes. The police will arrest me at work Monday and that I will probably lose my job. I hung up and called my lawyer. He called that number and pretended to be me. They told him the time for talk ,had passes and that I will be arrested Monday morning. A little while later, the called me back and cursed me. The said, you called us back again you mother f----. I called the state police and was informed that this is quite common. I asked her if I should get an unblinded number and she told me that she has an unlisted number and still gets these callers.
i got a call.\vm l from am Eric Watson from the IRS...bogus. I called back and it said the number he was calling was no longer the person calling...obviously a scam. So I waited a little longer (a few minutes) and then I got a call back from Eric asking me why I keep calling back and I told him that I am tired of getting his calls and I don't know why he keeps calling me but he said he is calling for xxx and that he would be going to jail of 3 years and I said I don't give a [***] why he is going to jail for but he has the wrong number then he told me to [***] and I told him that only guys with small dicks say that and especially Muslims like it up the [***] and I couldn't help him with that...he went ballistic with that comment. Is that not true? Why would a ma with a big dick need someone to suck it? DUH....this is such a scam and obviously he has a small dick so don't respond or answer these calls...LOL He has a small dick!!!!
