I received a call with the voice of a lady, she sounded as American saying I was awarded to receive grant money from the government. She gave me that tel. number to call and also gave me an Id # and to call that number right away.
Got a call from a private (blocked) number. A man with an Indian accent said he was from the Federal Grants Department and that I had been awarded $9,000. He gave me an award code and instructed me to call that number. I tried giving him a hard time asking what state area code 202 was, which he didn't know or even understood the question. I asked for his supervisor and he finally put me on hold and/or hung up. This seems to be a new technique to call from a blocked number to avoid call blocking or filtering.
I received the same call. I asked where he was located and he stated Washington DC. I went on to say it was a scam and he stated once I call the number I can get all the details.
